Our Mission

The Cape River Heritage Museum is a community-centered not for profit historical organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the unique character of southeastern Missouri. The museum hosts ever-changing exhibits, educational programs, special tours, community, and social events that are open to families, school groups, organizations, tour groups and the general public.

Through our mission we are committed to:

Promoting the local and regional culture and history of Southeastern Missouri

Preserving artifacts, memorabilia, oral history, and other related articles through the standard museum practices of conservation, documentation, cataloging, and publication.

Educating the public through permanent and rotating exhibits, presentations, archival research, workshops, and special events.
